The best times to walk your dog in hot weather

As temperatures rise, it is important to be aware of when you go outside with your dog. In this blog you can read when it is best to walk during warm days.

1. Early in the morning
Between 6:00 and 9:00 the air is often still cool and the asphalt is not warmed up. This is the ideal time for a long walk.

2. Late at night
It often only really cools down after 9pm. The sun has set, the humidity drops and your dog can exercise safely.

3. Avoid the noon hour
Temperatures are highest between 12:00 and 17:00. Asphalt can reach 60 degrees – painful and dangerous for dogs’ snouts and paws.

4. Walking in the shade or natural areas
Do you have to go outside during the day? Choose a shady route or a wooded area. Avoid concrete and city.

With the right timing, you can make every summer walk safe and enjoyable. Adjust your routine to the weather and only walk your dog when it is responsible.
